Rachel Helfrich Tobin is in her second year as a Student Athlete Retention Specialist on the JJC Athletics staff.  

Rachel has more than a decade of experience in higher education, specializing in supporting student success inside and outside the classroom. She has worked with student-athletes at both the Division I and Division III levels, providing direct assistance in academic areas as well as mentoring and general support to positively impact students.

Rachel graduated from Northern Illinois University, where she earned both her bachelor’s degree in English and her master’s degree in Adult & Higher Education.  

Rachel grew up in Dixon, IL, and graduated from Dixon High School. She currently resides in Bolingbrook with her husband, Nicholas, and two sons, Owen and Jack.
