The Joliet Junior College women's basketball team was looking for a win on the road and found it Friday as the Wolves took down Elmhurst University (JV), 72-52.
Joyce Tua-Link had a big night, scoring 27 points while recording six rebounds, four assists, three steals and three blocks in the win.
"I think we came out with good energy and it kick started us to do better, especially in the second and third quarter," Tua-Link said. " We lifted each other up and stayed disciplined so it really helped us in the long run."
Sophomore
Kiyah Robertson recorded a double-double, scoring 22 points along with 10 rebounds. She also recorded three blocks and a pair of steals.
"I think we came into the game with the thought of not wanting to lose anymore," Robertson said. "We know we are low numbers so we have to find new ways to stay in the game and stay tough. We started this game rocky but in the second half we turned it up and looked like the team we know we can become."
Helping the Wolves (6-4) elsewhere on the court,
Olivia Rafalski recorded 13 rebounds while
Jazlynn Foster finished with a double-double of her own with 11 points, 11 rebounds, five assists and a pair of steals.
The Wolves don't get a chance to rest as they stay on the road Saturday as they head to Prairie State for a 1 p.m. tip.
