The Wolves showed grit in a back-and-forth contest Saturday as the Joliet Junior College women's basketball team fell to No. 3 Anoka-Ramsey Community College, 61-56.
Sophomore
Kiyah Robertson led with 21 points scored, nine rebounds and four steals in a game that saw six lead changes and six ties. The Wolves (7-6) shot 32.1 percent on the night with a 29.4 percentage from beyond the arc.Â
"I'm so proud of the young ladies," Wolves coach
Shaun Sanderson said. "They came here and showed that they can compete with both the top teams in the country. Hopefully, we get the opportunity to play them in march. We fought from beginning to end.Â
"These young ladies have nothing to hand their heads about."
The Wolves' largest lead came late in the first quarter by three while they trailed by no more than 11 points in the second. JJC trailed at the half, 30-23.
Freshman
Demi Page finished with 12 points, eight rebounds and a steal.
Lovely Tua-Link scored 10 points with five rebounds, an assists and a steal.
Olivia Rafalski finished with four points and
Joyce Tua-Link finished with three.
Jazlynn Foster scored six points off the bench.
The Wolves return to action on Saturday, January 4 when they host Lake Michigan College.
