The Wolves snapped a four-game losing streak Saturday when the Joliet Junior College women's basketball team beat visiting Black Hawk College-Moline, 75-68.
On a night when the Wolves (10-12) celebrated their sophomores, five players reached double-digit scoring, led by
Kiyah Robertson with 20 points, four rebounds and five blocks.
"I think today was a good game for us, even though it wasn't our best game -- we worked hard," Robertson said. "Everyone played their role and we looked like a team out there. Don't count us out. We had a little set back but it's not over yet."
Lovely Tua-Link recorded a double-double with 17 points, 10 assists and a pair of steals.
"Today was our first time playing as a team," she said. "Discipline played a big tole in today's win."
Joyce Tua-Link scored 14 points,
Demi Page scored 11 and had five rebounds and
Jazlynn Foster also recorded a double-double with 11 points and 12 rebounds.
"It feels good to get the win today," said Wolves coach
Shaun Sanderson. "I thought we've been playing some really good basketball lately but down the stretch things haven't been going our way. It did today. The girls worked really hard and played hard all week. They earned this W."
The Wolves travel to Kankakee Community College on Tuesday for a 5:30 p.m. tip.Â
