Softball stays undefeated in South Carolina with pair of wins

Joliet Junior College softball earned two victories Monday at the Fast Pitch Dreams Classic in North Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, defeating Patrick & Henry College and Hagerstown Community College to improve to 6-3 on the season.

In the first game, the Wolves secured a 6-1 win over Patrick & Henry College. Averi Jury (2-1) delivered a strong performance in the circle, pitching a complete game with seven innings, three hits allowed, and one earned run while striking out one. Jury also contributed at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two RBIs. Lea Herkel added a 2-for-4 performance with a run scored and an RBI, while Skylar Welcome finished 1-for-3 with a double, a run scored, and an RBI.

JJC followed that with a dramatic 11-10 victory over Hagerstown Community College in the second game of the day were Natalie Hajer Hitting a grand slam and finished with four RBIs. Dani Chorak went 2-for-2 with two RBIs and a run scored, and Darcy Ness added a 2-for-4 performance with a run and an RBI.

In the circle, Keigan Sprovieri (2-2) earned the win, while Karli McMillin closed the game to secure the save.

Joliet Junior College will continue play at the Fast Pitch Dreams Classic on Tuesday, facing USC Union at 1 p.m. and Rainy River Community College at 3 p.m.
