Softball keeps rolling with sweep of Moraine Valley

Joliet Junior College softball earned its fifth-straight series sweep Wednesday as the Wolves took down Moraine Valley College on the road.

The Wolves (19-4) took the first game in six innings, 9-0. 

Karli McMillin (7-0) stays unbeaten in the circle after pitching all six innings, earning six strike outs and allowing three hits. 

Taylor Wells was perfect at the plate, going 4-for-4 with two home runs and five RBI's. Samantha Rios recorded two hits.

The second game saw the Wolves reach victory again, 11-2. Averi Jury (6-1) earned the win after pitching the full game, allowing three hits and two earned runs while striking out three and walking a pair.

D'arcy Ness powered the Wolves offensively as she was a perfect 4-for-4 with two RBI's and a run. Lauren Pell finished 3-for-4 with two runs and an RBI. She also stole two bases. McMillin was 2-for-2 with a double and three RBI's. Natalie Reyes went 3-for-4 with two runs, a double and two RBI's.

The Wolves are currently riding a 13 game win streak dating back to a March 10 15-5 victory over Rainy River Community College in North Myrtle Beach, SC. Next up, JJC travels to Harper College on Friday for a doubleheader beginning at 3 p.m.
