Joliet Junior College softball fell to Moraine Valley Community College, 8-4, Wednesday at home.
Moraine Valley built an early lead and held off the Wolves (2-3) despite several strong, offensive pushes from JJC.
Skylar Welcome led the Wolves at the plate, going 2-for-4 with a double, two RBIs and a run scored. Lea Herkel added a 2-for-4 performance with a double and a run scored, while Paige Borton finished 2-for-3 with a double and a run scored.
In the circle, Keigan Sprovieri (0-2) took the loss, pitching 2.1 innings, allowing six hits and three earned runs.
The Wolves will now hit the road to South Carolina, where they will face the Community College of Rhode Island on Sunday at 9 a.m., followed by Bay College at 1 p.m.Â
