The Wolves came up just short Monday, falling 13–11 to College of DuPage after a late comeback by DuPage.
Joliet Junior College had early control, answering a first-inning deficit with a strong response. Charlie Martin delivered a two-run single in the opening frame, and the Wolves added to their lead in the second inning with a big rally, highlighted by another RBI single from Martin and a run-scoring double by Isaiah Rhodes to build a five-run advantage.
College of DuPage battled back, cutting into the lead with a two-run home run in the third before taking control in the fourth with a five-run inning. The Wolves continued to fight, tying the game at 10–10 in the seventh on a sacrifice fly from Declan DeMent, and again at 11–11 in the eighth when Brenden Henderson delivered an RBI single.
However, College of DuPage delivered the final blow in the ninth with a two-run home run to secure the win.
JJC totaled 15 hits in the game, led by John O'Brien, who went 3-for-5. Martin drove in a team-high four RBI's.The Wolves were also aggressive on the bases, finishing with four stolen bases.
The Wolves will look to bounce back in their next matchup as they travel to face Harper College on Thursday.
