It was a rough day for the Wolves as Joliet Junior College baseball was swept by Bryant & Stratton on the road Saturday.
The Wolves (16-24) lost the first game in six innings, 17-7. The Bobcats scored eight runs in the opening frame to put the Wolves down early. They responded in the top of the second with four runs scored, but the Bobcats added another four runs in the second and third innings. The Wolves scored three more in the fourth, but Bryant & Stratton kept rolling.
Austin Cusack,
Jose Granados and
Max Miller each recorded two runs in the first game as the Wolves tallied seven hits to the Bobcats' 13.
The second game was far closer, with the Bobcats earning the walk-off win, 10-9, in the seventh.
Midway through the second inning, the game was tied 4-4 before the Bobcats scored two runs. After a scoreless third, Bryant & Stratton added another three runs. The Wolves rallied, scoring three runs in the sixth and then tying things up with two runs in the seventh.Â
Charlie Martin went 2-for-4 in the game with two RBI's and a run scored.
John O'Brien also recorded a hit and RBI.
The Wolves return home Sunday to host Elgin at noon.
